Located roughly in the center of Japan, Nagoya is an important crossroads for transportation. It was almost four hundred years ago that Shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa built Nagoya Castle, leading to the foundation of Nagoya where Aichi-Gakuin University School of Dentistry is now located. Today, Nagoya has grown into a large modern city with museums of art, an aquarium, a zoo and numerous other cultural facilities. In 2005, Aichi World Exposition Japan took place near Nagoya. It is also well known that Chubu International Airport (Centrair) located near Nagoya opened in the same year. Based on these developments, it can be said that today Nagoya becomes one of Japan's most energetic cities, rich with history and culture. We hope that you will visit various famous places in Nagoya City when attending this International Convention of the Temporomandibular Joints. We extend a hearty welcome to all participants, hoping that you will enjoy staying in Nagoya City in Japan.
(President of the Meeting: Yoichiro Kameyama, Professor, Department of Pathology, and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Meeting: Kenichi Kurita, Professor, the First Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Aichi-Gakuin University School of Dentistry)
